iPen 2 is often a universal stylus for iPad, but as well it can be mouse for iMac and Apple Displays running Mac OS and Windows. This stylus includes 1024 amounts of pressure sensitivity, and yes it emits signal from the pen tip so that you can hold the iPen 2 stylus in any way you like, without degrading its performance. This stylus is designed to use iMac and Apple Displays with glass panels, and due to the new technology, this stylus turns your non-touch Apple Display into stylus friendly screen that's fully compatible with Mac and Windows applications. We should also mention that iPen 2 stylus comes with a stand which will hold and recharge your stylus when you’re not deploying it.
But the people at Cregle are hoping there’s room for just one more: the iPen 2. That’s right, the c's that brought you the original iPen for iPad get home with a much-improved stylus that works on a number of devices, as well as your iMac and Apple Display…
The stylus essentially also comes in two flavors: one for your iMac and Apple Display, and one for that iPad. They are two separate products, each making use of their own receivers. On the Mac version, there’s two that put on the screen, and also on the iPad, it’s the full case.
Both versions apparently work great, nevertheless they have
their limitations. On the Mac, pressure recognition is now only supported in Corel Painter and Autodesk Sketchbook (it truely does work as a mouse though) and there’s not even a list yet for iOS apps.
It needs to be said that the iPen 2 comes with a bit of an asterisk. The original iPen took lots of heat from customers for poor quality and accuracy (read The Verge’s review). Cregle says it’s resolved all the kinks, and is even offering original iPen backers a chance to get an iPen 2 just for $55. But it’s worth noting. Obviously people still need faith inside them, as they’ve raised over $200K.
